Jim Hauer said he showed up at Foothill II so Doug Korns wouldn't be stranded with no one to play. It turned out to be a good day for Jim.

Par seemed out of reach all day as Jim managed two deuces and three bogeys on the front nine, while Doug had four bogeys for a 31.

On the back nine, Jim made two more deuces, but a bogey and double-bogey left him with another 28 for 56 total. Doug skidded to a 29 for the back nine coming in with a 60 total.
