Thanks for the support
By BRET "THE HIT MAN HART"
For the Calgary Sun
============================
I'd like to say thank you to all my fans around the world for your support. I'd like to especially
thank my fans in America who have stuck by me while I've criticized the rest of the American
wrestling audience.
Thank you for the get well wishes from Germany, England, America, The Phillipines, South
Africa, Japan, Kuwait, Australia and the tons of get well cards from all over Canada!
I'd like to congratulate and thank my brother, Owen, for dedicating his victory in the
Intercontinental Championship division to me. Owen's excellent defeat over the WWF's first
third-generation wrestler, Rocky Maivia, only adds to the proof that the Harts are still the first
family of wrestling!
I want to thank the British Bulldog for trashing none other than The Undertaker in the name of
The Hitman.
I want to thank Brian Pillman for his inspirational words and encouragement. One of the
questions everybody is asking me is if Brian Pillman is a member of The Hart Foundation.
Unfortunately, Brian can't be a card-carrying member of the foundation because the only way in
is to be a member of the Hart family.
I don't mean to in any way minimize my appreciation for Pillman's support and we're glad to
have him hang out with us any time he wants.
Neidhart and Pillman, now there's an "interesting" duo, eh?
Speaking of the Anvil, since he was the original co-founder of The Hart Foundation he's free to
come and go as he pleases. The important thing about Jim is that he's always there when I need
him.
I want to thank the Anvil for saving my life when Stone Cold Steve Austin was about to break
every bone in my body. As far as Austin goes, don't you think it takes a lot of guts to attack a
guy in a wheelchair who'd just had surgery four days before?
Isn't it sad that this is what a lot of American wrestling fans applaud as a Great American Hero?
I asked the American wrestling audience at Raw the next week if they would have loved it if
Austin had thrown me off the ramp and sent the wheel chair crashing down on top of me and
you know what they did? They cheered and said yes they would have loved it. Did you see the
WWF TV commercial where a little kid is imitating Stone Cold Steve Austin and being rude to
his parents? Yeah, that's some great role model. It's time for a reality check. American wrestling
fans can dish it out but they sure can't take it.
The American wrestling fans were so busy idolizing their anti-heroes that they can't figure out
how the good guys got four of the five belts in the WWF! They were so blinded by Austin's
tough talk and Michael's sexy walk that before they knew what hit them The Hart Foundation
took over the WWF! Never before has one family controlled so much WWF gold! Gold is
power. With power I can make changes.
I'm just itching to get back in the ring so I can claim the WWF World Title for the fifth time. It
doesn't matter to me who wins the Championship match at In Your House tomorrow night
because I'll challenge Undertaker or Stone Cold Steve Austin as soon as I'm on my feet.
