A member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), Bethany competes in an affiliated conference of nine small private liberal arts colleges. On a national level, Bethany competes as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). At the conference, regional, and national levels, Bethany volleyball teams and individual players have consistently achieved high levels of success -- athletically and academically.
Head Coach Deb Johnson has 16 years of college coaching experience, the last 14 at Bethany. She has compiled over 300 coaching victories and has a .621 winning percentage as a head volleyball coach at the collegiate level. Coach Johnson's teams have qualified for post-season play in 13 of the last 15 years. At the conference level her teams have finished conference champion or runner-up in 7 of the last 14 years.
In a program that stresses academic and athletic excellence, many individuals have gained recognition for their achievements. Since 1984, individual honors include the following:

Each season, a group of talented and dedicated young women compete in the Bethany volleyball program. Many of the players are involved in campus leadership as well as upholding a reputation for academic excellence as a team. The vast majority of team members receive academic and volleyball scholarships. The 1998 squad combined for an average 3.49 grade point average. Consistent with the overall mission of Bethany College, the volleyball program strives to prepare individuals for future success in a community of faith and creative learning.
