Thank
you, 352 by Jeremy Cantrell, Sports Editor Bethany Messenger: Friday, April

When I came to Bethany, I thought that having
great crowds to watch a sporting event was a thing of the past once I left
high school. This did not bother me as I viewed college athletics
at the NAIA level as a chance to see what the limits of one's ability was.
Last Saturday my thinking on this subject change.
When I'm at an event I like to cheer the Swedes
on, I might even give the other team a hard time. This is what I
do because I'm enjoying myself at whatever game I am at. I never
thought that it would have something to do with the game. During
last Saturday's baseball the 352 club was out in full force. The were having
a barbecue and basically just enjoying the good weather. Then the
game got close and they started to become apart of the game. The
were cheering and jeering the other team. As the game went on and
the Swedes scored more runs, the club became louder and more noticeable.
The confidence of the other team began to dwindle and the Swede baseball
team walked away with an easy victory.
I've been in a few rowdy crowds at Bethany and I
never realized what an impact it has on the game. The 352 club made
their presence felt and I got to be on the receiving end of their support.
I wish to send a sincere thank you to those who made a little noise at
Saturday's game. I also want to say that anytime you have the opportunity
to support a Bethany function, whether it's choir or band or athletics
or art or drama, to do so because it does make a difference.
