Baseball
    The Bethany baseball Swedes last week swept Sterling College, 5-2 and 5-1; on Wednesday lost at Kansas State University, 1-3; and on Saturday swept Friends University, 7-1 and 10-3.  In the KCAC for his week's efforts pitching against Sterling (W-5-1) and Friends (W-7-1), senior Clay Witt was named conference player-of-the-week.
    Speaking of the conference race, head coach Mike Waldie said: "It was good to get back into the thick of things.  Right now we are playing well, and we control our own destiny."
    This week the Swedes play a doubleheader at Tabor College on Wednesday, and on Saturday go to Kansas Wesleyan.  Next Tuesday Bethany hosts Ottawa University for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
