John Daigle sent in the following:

I was watching television and saw Sting in a Sprite commercial. It started where a kid opened his front door and Sting was there in his black and white colors. He said he was part of some dream makers organization (I forget the actual name). He and the kid went to wrestle in the living room. Before they lock up, the kid stopped to take a drink from his Sprite bottle. After, he and Sting wrestled and Sting just beat on him. Pretty funny stuff actually. A voice then said "Sprite won't do anything but quench your thirst."

Sting called into QVC during their special WCW merchandise program and said that he will be in Los Angeles today for 10 hours along with Goldberg to tape an upcoming WCW video game commercial. Speaking of Sting, on September 20 he will be in Vancouver, British Columbia to film his part for the TBS-only movie, "Shutterspeed."

Sting is expected to give the President role back to Bischoff by saying that he is too busy wrestling to do a good job. Some people are thinking that this will be Bischoff's lead in to turn heel and reform the N.W.O. More N.W.O. clips have been shown on WCW TV, while WCW.com has been instructed to update the www.nwowrestling.com site more often.

Here's an update on the match card for WCW Road Wild PPV:

On Thunder, Kevin Nash hinted that he would have a mystery tag team partner for Nitro in Memphis. He said that he knew his partner for 9 years. His tag partner will be none other than SCOTT HALL. It will be the REUNION OF THE OUTSIDERS: Kevin Nash and Scott Hall vs. Hollywood Hogan and Sting this week on Nitro in Memphis, Tenn.

On another note, Sting is set to form a face alliance with Hogan and Goldberg to fued with the Outsiders, the Steiner Brothers, and Team Madness.

2 notes of interest from WCW Live:

  • Hogan said that the only two wrestlers who deserve to be ones to replace hmself as the main draw card in World Championship Wrestling are Sting and Goldberg.
  • And the hummer driver angle has been dropped. So I guess we might never know who the actual driver was.
Also, there is a WCW House Show in Los Angeles on August 22 (the same day as WWF SummerSlam PPV) and the main event for this show will be Hollywood Hogan & Sting vs. Macho Man Randy Savage & Sid Vicious. Expect to see this match on an upcoming Nitro or maybe even a PPV! Bret Hart was rumored to end this title reign of Hogan's, but now many people are saying it will be Sting taking the title from Hogan, due to his overwhelming popularity. So, whatever happens, expect Hogan and Sting partnership to be short lived and end with Hogan and Sting meeting one-on-one, in a face vs. face match.

WCW says Sting did not stop doing his drop from the ceiling, they just put it on halt because of how Owen Hart died. Hollywood Hogan mentioned on the Larry King Live show that Sting's stunt guys do 3 safety checks. Sting also said in a recent interview that his stunt of dropping from the ceiling ala Owen Hart will continue in the near future. If you would like to read Sting's extensive interview, go to the new section, "1-on-1 with Sting" on this website.
