President’s Message from Bob Vaillancourt

Greetings Squaws and Braves.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the club,
Not a member was stirring cuz they're all at the Pub,

The ski boots were tossed by the wood stove with care
Drying them out in the foot-smelled air.

I looked to the south sky from the back lawn
A nor'easter will be givin' us two feet by dawn.

So over to the Pub across the street,
Hope that there is still an open bar-seat.

With Weed in his corner as happy as can be,
Drinking Capt'n Morgan's along with TC.

Betsy and Ed eating spud skins and tips,
Standing ever-so-close, kinda joined at the hips.

Peter eyed the room ever-so slow,
Knowing Lance will be back in a beer or so.

Outside the wind began to howl,
Inside the rounds were being served up by Carl.

Steve Gillan kept wandering about the crowd,
Hoping for Tid-Bits to make the Inni news proud.

Logan left the Pub to be at the club alone,
Cause he's really too cheap and was waiting for Joseph to phone.

Suddenly a noise came from the hall so loud,
It's Linda Pike and half the Coast Guard.

They tredged through the snow, and made it at last,
Soon they'll be listening to Cliffie's tales from the past.

All night it kept snowing very very hard,
Not one snow plow could make it out of the yard.

Sully and SOB sat there and drank,
Shooting the breeze with Duke, Buzzard and Frank.

Kept drinking all night 'til last call,
When we took a good look out the front hall,

The parking lot was a blanket, deep and white,
Looks like ol' Carl was here for the night.

He turned and yelled something quite screwie,
If I'm stuck here, we'll drink 'til dawn on Dewey!

We all kept on drinking and drinking till dawn,
By then the drifts were so big they could bury Tall Jon.

We finally left for a trek to the club,
When we heard sleigh bells ring from somewhere above.

Looking around the snow was so deep,
We all agreed that we needed some sleep.

Sleigh bells ringing was surely a trick,
It just couldn't be those of Ole Saint Nick.

All the little Indians staggering ever so slow,
They could see the Big Teepee thru the blinding snow

To the front of the club Sully looked and said with a smile,
The Indian is back, he's been gone for a while.

You must be going nuts, or is it the weather,
Cause on his head is Santa's cap instead of a feather.

Davey stopped in astonishment and said what the heck!
Someone has shoveled the entire deck.

Over on the side where we keep the lawn mover,
There is a red bow with a brand new snow blower.

Morgan came out from his room reeling,
There's a waterbed inside and mirrors on the ceiling.

It was the strangest thing that I have ever seen,
The TV set was replaced with a new wide screen.

And one thing that made this that much more slicker,
Was the new TV came with a working Clicker.

Denise and SOB were full of glee,
There were two new couches in front of the TV.

As my eyes around the room did roam,
There in the corner was a new answering machine and phone.

Next to the woodstove was some matching luggage by Gucci,
With a note attached "From Santa to Papa Pucci".

In the back yard the snow blanketed deep to the brook,
I went to the deck for a better look.

The swale was gone and as sure as I'm alive,
It's been transformed into a Hot Tub to fit Twenty-five.

Merry Christmas!
