Dubuque Field Archers

August News Letter Well our 3-D tournament season has come to an end. All in all I feel it went well. Our August 20th shoot saw I 1 5 shooters try their luck on a fairly challenging course. We are starting to get new faces from as far away as Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Manchester, and even a couple from Consil Bluff Iowa. Most have been very pleased with the course; the set-up and overall appearance of our range. Lets keep up the good work. We need to show the archery community that we appreciate their patronage, and we will continue to make the Dubuque Field Archers the place to come and enjoy a day of shooting. I would like to thank everyone who helped this season whether you set- up, took down, cut weeds, whatever. Without you people this club would not exist. The raffle's for the knight Rifles and Kawasaki four wheeler concluded on Aug. 20th, not all the figures have been tabulated as of this news letter, but early estimates indicate we did fairly well for the short time we had to sell tickets. feel these raffles were well worth the time and effort, and should definitely be considered as a way to raise money next year. Thanks to everyone who took time out of their weekends to take the four wheeler to several business' and spend the day selling tickets. You made the difference in whether we made or lost money. This tells me that you all care about our club and want to see it grow and build to be the best archery club in the area. Thanks again for all of your support and the great amount of help you have given me as President of the Dubuque Field Archers. The winner of the second Knight rifle was: David Tegeler of Dyersville Iowa. The winner of the Kawasaki four wheeler was: Jason HefeLof Dubuque Iowa. There was not much to report from the August club meeting aq time was spent writing out the extra tickets for the people who had paid $5.00 a ticket for the four wheeler. The board did approve to have C&S Small Engine look at the Yazzho riding mower to see if it can be repaired. Carl from C&S says that the clutches may need adjustment. If this will take care of the problem then we will have it repaired. The next scheduled Club Meeting is September 13, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at the outdoor range. Hope to see you there. Joe Fluhr
