Dubuque Field Archers News March 2003
There was a meeting held at the indoor range on March 5, 2003. Fllowing are the resulsts of the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Tim Digman and accepted. The treasurer's report was read by Joe Tilp. He reported that the club has $1.200.00 cash on hand. The report was accepted. Old Business: Bag targets have been purchased by the club. These are " seconds " and saved us $5.00 per bag. New Business: A committe has been assigned to rewrite the Bylaws. Committe members are: Kevin Sabers, Tim Digman and Tom Fessler. Discussion: Joe Tilp feels there is confusion about participation in setting up for 3d shoots metioned in the February's news letter. At the annual meeting it was decided that all members should participate in setting up the shoots. I think we all agree that most shoots are handled by just a few members . Joe also thought members may be confused about the amount time each member would contribute to thier club. It could be as little as 3 to 4 hours each day OR 5 to 6 hours per shoot. Members at the annual meeting did not think that was a lot to expect from each member. If everyone participates, we can get new ideas for setting up the corse.Dues: Joe Tilp reminds everyone that dues are to be paid by March 31st or there will be a penalty. Single membership is $30.00 and Family membership is $45.00. Everyone at the meeting and those who wer not able to attend must realize that taking of membership dues is not easy! Please make it easier on the treasurer and the club by paying your dues on time, this way the club will know how much money is available for the budget each year. If you have already paid, you should have received your membership card with this newsletter. It was approved at the meeting on March 5th that the club will be closed from August 11th through August 17th, 2003 for the Eastern Iowa Traveling 3D shoot. No beer can be consumed before shooting and all gear must be stored after the shooting round. Joe Fluhr will begin assigning members to a team for setting up of the 3D shoots. If you have someone you would like to work with , give them a call. The team Captains are listed in the last news letter. In case you don't have the February's newsletter The Captains are: Tom Digman 552-2755 ( April 13th ), John Timmerman 588-0960 (May 4th), Sonny Weires 552-1000 (Jun 8th), Louie Husemann 583-5612(July 4th) and Steve Plein 556-1059 (August 16&17). Joe Fluhr is going to rewrite the membership Applications. Club championships will be shot At Central Range on Saturday March 29, 2003 from 12:00 to 4:00pm you will need to pay Central Range a $5.00 shooting fee The Next Dubuque Field Archers Club meeting is April 9th, 2003.
