Congratulations Brenda!!! As you all know, it's that time of year again to elect new board members and a new president. Please have someone in mind when you attend the meeting who can lead the club and keep us growing. I would like to thank all the members who have given me so much help in the last 4 years. Your dedication to the club is what has kept us alive. To all the members who pitched in last year to make our 3D tournaments go so well, it was greatly appreciated. Last year, according to my figures, most all who signed up gave their time. A few things I'm sorry about, through the last 4 years are that we didn't manage to get our indoor range built. This is something I believe our club still needsto keep us going strong. We need a place where we, as archers, can get together and spend some time talking, shooting and hunting. Where we can bring children and introduce them to the fine sport of archery and all the good people that seem to belong to this sport. Another thing that has bothered me this year is the fact that we lost a few good members to the new rule that all had to help in the running of the 3D tournaments. I believe we had good intentions when we adopted this rule, hoping that it would let members see just how tough and time consuming it is to be ready for each and every tournament. I'm sorry and hope those that have quit will reconsider and join the club this year. Please join and bring suggestions as to how we can help make this club grow. Suggestions will be welcomed and taken into careful consideration, no matter how silly you may think they are. If they aren't brought up, then we don't know what you, as members, are wanting from DFA. I know DFA board of directors is talented, but I don't think any of us are mind readers. So please come and share your thoughts. Rember to bring those big archery harvest bucks from 2003 hunting year to be scored for the big buck contest. You are welcome to bring all the big bucks shot in 2003 for viewing , but only those shot with bow and arrow will be allowed to enter the big buck contest. There are some issues the club must take care of at this meeting. Targets purchases, equipment maintenance, searching for an indoor range facility and the attendance at the 4 club shoots this year. The annual meeting is scheduled for: Saturday, February 7th at the Heartland Inn on Highway 20 in the meeting room.
Starts at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. and meeting to follow. Please bring a dish to pass, your table service and what ever you are going to drink. Ron Redding is cooking the beef again this year. Thanks Ron I have truly enjoyed being your President over the past 4 years and I think the club has accomplished some good things. The time has come for me to step down for now. I don't seem to have the time to run the club as I think it needs to be. Thanks to all of the members who have entrusted me the job of running this fine organization. To the new President, I wish you all the best. If there is anything I can do to help, feel free to call. Oh, and don't worry about the slightly balding spot, or your teeth falling out, or the nervous shakes. I'm sure it's just genetic HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Hope to see you all from time to time at the range. Good Luck and Good shooting!! Sincerely Joseph Fluhr President - Dubuque Field Archers
