Dubuque Field Archers January News Letter 2001
Well the 2000 deer season has come to a close, hope all who participated had an enjoyable hunt. The weather made the last month miserable, deep snow and bitter cold, but then it would not be hunting with out the unexpected now would it. Gives all of us something to tell future generations About how we stalked the big guy through knee deep snow, howling winds, driving sleet, just to have him jump at the last minute and bound over the hill out of sight, at least that is what happened on T.V. The Annual club meeting is almost here. The date is Saturday January 27 2001, At the Asbury fire station, starting at 6:30 pm. Please bring a dish to pass and your own table service. The club will provide the pop, anyone wanting something else is asked to bring it along with them. We will be serving beef this year in hopes of drawing those who do not like wild game to also come and enjoy a good meal. Kevin Sabers has donated the beef and Ron Redding has agreed to cook it for the meal so when you see either of these guys show them your gratitude, and thank them for their Generosity. As most of you know the indoor range is now open and we have been shooting on Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays. This range is open to non members also, so if you have a buddy that would like to pratice bring him or her along, the cost to non members is S 4.00 per day. We are also letting non members slioot our indoor league this year. League will start on the first week of Feburmy, sign up sheet is liaiigidg at the indoor range. So come and have some fun and break the winter blues Randy Temperley is still looking for people interested in the instructional shooting class to be given by Terry Wunderle, This class is set for Feb.11th Starting at 8:00am and lasts about 8 hrs Terry is a well known Archery coach and has instructed many world class as well as national champions.
