Annual Meeting (January 29, 2005

Started at7:00 pm with a potluck. Meeting followed. Board members present: President, Tom Fessler; Vice President, Rodney Weires; Treasurer, Joe Tilp; Secretary, Kim Weires; Board member, Fred Timmerman; Club Representative, John Shappell. Treasurer's Report: Joe Tilp distributed the treasurer's report for the year ending December 31, 2004. OLD BUSINESS Traveling 3D League -The pros & cons of starting a traveling league were discussed. The necessity of setting targets every 3 weeks to accommodate a traveling league is an additional operational burden, but it is more desirable to shoot at 3-D targets rather than the bags used for league. Some history -there used to be a group called "The "Traveling Archers" composed of teams from various clubs that would compete at a scheduled 3D shoot and use their "traveling" scores as their league scores. Tim Digman suggested that a trophy could be passed from team to team, year to year. Tom Fessler and Rodney Weires will talk to various clubs to determine if there is any interest. Insurance for Non-members to Use Range -There has been discussion about purchasing insurance to accommodate non-members. Tom Fessler has talked to an insurance agent and reported that in that agent's opinion, it is cost prohibitive and the administrative burden could not easily be dealt with. Railings on Tree Stands -The railings must be replaced before the first 3-D shoot in the spring. No assignment of that task was made. NEW BUSINESS Dan Lester reported that the club needs to have more change($) available at start of each shoot. Experience has shown that "change runs" have to be made after the first few shooters sign in. A suggestion to start with $300.00 rather than $100.00 was generally agreed upon. Rodney Weires said that someone asked him if shooting a firearm was allowed at our outdoor range. Since the club's insurance does not cover such an activity for either hunting or marksmanship practice, the answer is an emphatic No! John Shappell reported that having non-members shoot in the Bow Hunter League this past year went well. John heard no complaints from members about it. Fred Timmerman said he would make a portable metal moneybox for concessions. There was a discussion about bag targets being put away too soon this past year .It was decided that they should be left out longer after the league ends for practicing throughout the fall months.
