On 1 March, 1997, Paul Duclos was fishin at Spring Lake in Santa Rosa, CA when he landed what appears to be a new Large Mouth Bass World Record, weighing in at 24 lbs 1 oz. He caught it on a rainbow trout colored Castaic Lure. It measured in at 29 inches in length and 39 inches in girth. He weighed it on an uncertified scale 3 times and then...get this.....released it!! It was witnessed by atleast 2 other people, one being a Park Ranger, and didnt know he had the record until after he had let it go. Its been said that the "Reward" for the World Record Bass is a cool 1 Million Doolars that is going to be paid by the lure manufacturer. Rumor has it that he is out there trying to catch it again.....chances are, once this gets out....he wont be the only one!!! We all want to thank Scirrhus for all the trouble that he went to to get this pic for us, and Id like to thank my fishin' bro Basswipe for sending it to me!!! If y'all are thinking the same thing that I am....Ill see ya in CA!!!!!! 1
