More Miscellaneous Cricket Trivia:

Once every two years England and Australia play a test series, alternately in England and Australia, called the 'Ashes'. They came to be called the 'Ashes' when in Australia first beat England in England, and the bails used were burned, and their ashes were preserved. These ashes are stored at the cricket museum at Lord's cricket ground in London, and a replica of their container serves as a reward for the 'Ashes'.

In the 1932-33 Ashes the English captain Douglas Jardine instructed his fast bowlers to aim for the batsmens' bodies in order to prevent them from scoring runs. This was termed as 'Bodyline'. He succeeded in limiting the Australian batsman, but he became one of the most despised men in the cricket world.

Today Steve and Mark Waugh(Australia) are two of the most prolific batsmen in world cricket. They are also twins. Steve played for Australia long before Mark made it to the team. When Mark finally played for Australia it was Steve who had been dropped to make room for Mark. Steve was given the job of informing Mark.

C.B. Fry(England) has not only captained England in cricket, but has represented England in football, and once equaled the world long-jump record.
