Leevale`s Darren Dineen failed again to post the Olympic A standard and many now feel that his last chance will come on Sunday night in Rieti where all the top performers will be out in numbers.
Daniel Caulfield gave up his lane to Niall Dunne as after his fantastic run in Gateshead he wants to be fully prepared for Rieti which could also be his last attempt at the standard.
The race was won in 1.45.20 by P Korir of Kenya but was a full second faster than the next best.Darren finished back in 4th in 1.47.13 while Niall Dunne finished 6th in 1.48.33 beating Olympic bronze medalist in the process!Darren will now have his last try in Rieti along with Daniel.We`ll keep you posted.
