Daniel opened his season with an impressive 1.47.77 in Riga to break his personal best.He then hammered this time when he ran 1.46.84 at the Dublin International to gain the B standard for Sydney. He, like Dinneen, was bound for a long and hard journey in seek of that elusive A standard and he also failed in his bid.After racing at Dublin he travelled to Belfast, Sweden, London and Italy but it was all to no avail.After posting second in the nationals to James Nolan his best performance came at Gateshead where he sliced another chunk off his PB with 1.46.65.This was to prove his best effort as he was placed in the B race in Rieti and never really stood a chance of bettering his time there.
