Vocabulary Week of April 24
Here is the Vocabulary for the Week of April 10,
2000. This week I have once again changed the way we are going to do vocabulary words. The new system did not work as well as Mrs. Linn and I thought it would. Instead I am going to choose words from the book I am currently reading aloud, The Secret of Nimh . I will choose the words that correspond to what I will be reading aloud that week. The students will be given the words as usual on Monday. The students will have to define and write sentences for all the words, due on Wednesday. Then on Fridays we will have a vocabulary test. The test will also take a new format. I will create sentences with blanks for the words. Since these words are fairly difficult, I will place a word bank on the test. This way the students will have to determine which words fits the sentence and still spell it correctly. I will count off for spelling, because I am providing a word bank for the students use.
