Orange shared the honours with Bathurst in their first round Pennants encounter while Dubbo also won half their matches against Bathurst in round two which means this should be a very closely contested round.

Orange's other representative teams competed in the third round of the South-West zone Country Challenge series at the Orange Tenpin Bowl last weekend.
The men's team climbed from third to second but still dropped a further eight points behind leaders Wagga who extended their margin to 22 points.
The women's team fell from second back to third behind big movers Bathurst who shot from third to first and opened up a handy 11 point lead over former leaders Canberra with Orange another 22 points back in third spot.
Marilyn Schwenke did best for the home team with a 179 average but copped a hammering from her opponents winning just three games. Her high games were 201 and 204 and both those were losing efforts!
Bonnea Wiseman averaged 176, winning five of nine games with an opening effort of 223 her best game of the weekend. Lyn Handel also bowled well to finish the round with a 174 average and she won six of ten matches without the aid a 200 game.
Gwen Britt and Judy Streatfeild were below their best, averaging just 159 and 158 respectively while Dianne Gee also struggled in a limited role, averaging 146 in her three appearances.
For the men, David Hayward was easily the standout bowler, shooting a fine 197 average that included high games of 205-221-205-214. He shot 640 for his last three games and won seven of ten matches.
Most of the other team members averaged around the same mark with Alan Collins firing 186 from David Rosser 185, Ken Wiseman 181 and Chris Collins 190. Wally price struggled to a 166 average while Henry Phillips was a late withdrawal through illness.
High games from that group of players were Alan Collins 245, Chris Collins 203-212, Rosser 203, 204-204 and Wiseman 235. Wiseman had a successful weekend, achieving the best winning percentage by claiming victory in seven of nines games.
Orange's next Country Challenge outing will be in Wagga on 19-20 June.
The Canberra Open will be bowled at the Woden Bowl this weekend while the Bathurst Mountain Skins next weekend with $3,000 prizemoney up for grabs.
Other upcoming events include the Campbelltown Championships at the Astro Bowl from 22-30 May while the New South Wales State Championships run from 5-26 June. The Veteran and Restricted State Masters are set for 20 June while the Open State Masters will be bowled on 27 June. Winners of the recent Orange Masters will be representing the city in the State Masters.
The National Disabilities Tenpin Bowling Championships will be held at the Highpoint Bowl in Maribyrnong from 12-19 June.

Mark Lijic stamped his name in the record books again with a 701 series in the Friday triples last week that lifted his average to an all time centre high mark of 224. Lijic shot games of 274-201-226 to blitz the field, finishing 5 pins ahead of the next best score, which was a 616 from Tony Richards who rolled games of 204-213.
The only other player to shoot 600 was Michael Moorby who bowled a 243 as part of a 610 block.
Tim Irwin rolled a brilliant 268 game but his other two games were nothing to rave about unfortunately. Other high games for the night included Aldo Belmonte 207-211, Rebecca Belmonte 201, Chris Collins 203, Warren Handel 202, David Hayward 209, Greg Perry 209-217, David Rosser 204, Judy Streatfeild 201 and Stan Streatfeild 203.
Lijic wasn't his usual dominant force in the Monday Scratch Singles, rolling a 223 first up but nothing after that. Jason Belmonte was on fire with games of 230-239-205-35 for a 1286/6 series and was the only bowler to average over 200. He shot 1106 for his first five.
Other good games on a fairly subdued night included Wally Price 215-200-216 (631/3), Steve Reil 222-224-203 (806/4), James Dubbelde 228-211 (608/3) and Les Gunner 200.
Melanie Brown did well in the Tuesday Ladies Singles with an 844/4 series, finishing with games of 223-209-235 (667/3). Also rating a mention were Gwen Britt 201, Lyn Handel 202, Bonnea Wiseman 209 and Sharon Trudgett 209-236.
Trudgett was also in brilliant form in the Wednesday Doubles, posting scores of 248-225-212 for a 685 series. After a long break (11 months to be exact) Ian Hazzard returned to the lanes and first night out shot 194-255-238 for a 687 series that included 23 strikes from his last 27 shots.
Also doing well were Jim Dullaway 201, Chris Tyack 207, Glenn Robinson 204, David Smith 207 and Henry Phillips 224-200.
In the following 7:30 league Ingrid James bowled a terrific 221 personal best game while Bruce Clements unleashed a powerful 264 effort. Leo McKay chipped in with a 208.
Christopher Lees rolled a nice 213 in the Wednesday Juniors which followed a 209 in the same league the previous week.
In the Sunday Restricted Singles Niki Stones did best with a 230 ahead of Mr Average Gary Johnson who rolled a 201 and Richard de Rooy 204, Masters champion Chris Fuller 213 and Jon Thatcher 201-202-202. Mick Moorby shot 213 in he Sabbath League.
Personal best games this week were bowled by Carolyn Cox 147 (51 over average), Steven Thomas 177, Judy Sharpe 165, Mark Shields 120, Shaun Bowman 109, Damion Barrett 188, Orry Swan 144, Adam Smith 115 and Kylie Doneihi 120.
Young Natasha Lijic is hoping to follow in the footsteps of her father and showed glimpses of his bowling prowess with a personal best 100 during the week.
