Results have been received for the womens division of the final round of the South West zone Country Challenge held at Dubbo a fortnight ago with the Orange Mid City Motor Lodge unable to hold onto first place, finishing second behind Bathurst.
Chasing their first ever win in the competition, it was a disappointing end to the season for the Orange team who held a commanding lead with two rounds to play but had to settle for the runner-up position once again.
The teams averages were well down on normal with the exception of Marilyn Schwenke who averaged 182 with a high game of 244 and seven wins from ten games.
Gwen Britt was next best with a 158 average and five wins from eight matches while Bonnea Wiseman averaged 153, winning just one match. Judy Streatfeild, Dianne Gee and June Bryant all averaged 151.
The Orange team will be hoping for better luck in the state final which will be held at Mailand on 21-22 November. The Orange mens team failed to make the final after finishing fourth in their division.
