The tenth annual New South Wales Country Championships will be held at the Orange Tenpin Bowl this weekend with an official opening ceremony scheduled for today.

The Country Championships, inaugurated by the Orange Tenpin Bowling Association back in 1990 return to the Central West after three-year stints on the coast at Nowra and at Newcastle.

Bowlers will be lining up for the 1999 Championships in singles, doubles, mixed doubles and teams squads this weekend as well as next Saturday.

The New South Wales Country Masters will be bowled next Sunday.

Entries from around New South Wales have been exceptional with full squads lining up in most time slots.

Orange Association President, Henry Phillips has asked all local bowlers to check with the Bowl this morning to ensure they are bowling at the times nominated on their entry form. Due to the phenomenal response some bowlers were allocated to different times if their original squad choice was full.

The Orange City Council and Hansen's Optometrists proudly sponsor the Championships.
