The final qualifying round of the Central West Tenpin Pennants series will be held tomorrow when Orange takes on Dubbo. The top two men's and women's teams plus the juniors will be bowling in Dubbo while the remainder are competing in Orange.
One of the critical matches in the final round is the men's threes who need to beat Dubbo by seven to make the final and with the home lane advantage things should be close by the end of the day. Expect a nail-biting finish.
The mixed adults team and ladies fours both need to bowl well to tip Bathurst out of the final while the mixed juniors also need a strong showing to ensure a finals berth.
All the teams bowling in Dubbo look to have a finals spot secured while the only team unlikely to make the finals is the ladies threes who need to reverse a 24 point loss to Dubbo in their previous encounter to have any hope. While that's a very tough assignment, it's not impossible.

Junior bowler Bindy Irwin had a mixed night in the Monday Scratch Singles, rolling some games she'd rather not remember but one that will burn long in her memory, a brilliant personal best 268 game.
Aaron Osborne also had some good memories after a personal best 232 game in the Tuesday Junior league.
After below par efforts on the first two nights of the league, defending champion Mark Lijic bounced back to his best and took top spot of the points table with a resounding 1299 series.
His first game was nothing special but he then shot 204-247-202-217-248, coming home with 1118 in his last five games.
Mario Mastronardi was in good form over the past week, shooting a nice 1264/6 series with games of 229-200-228-213-201, including 842/4.
Wally Price is another form player at the moment and he also shot over a 200 average, compiling games of 203-209 at the start and finishing with 247-202 (625/3) for a 1213/6 series. Pity about the two middle games.
David Rosser surrendered the league lead with a whimper, struggling to capture his form of the previous two weeks and had nothing to smile about apart from a final 212 game.
Jason Belmonte started brilliantly with a 266 and followed that with a 212 (645/3) but did nothing after that. Other good games came from Jason Brown 211, Les Gunner 227-205, Mick Moorby 213 and Rebecca Belmonte 200.
In the high-scoring Friday Triples Chris Collins rolled a hot 275 game but his other two games were not as impressive as he made 619/3.
Mark Lijic topped proceedings as often is the case, starting with a blistering 269 then going off the boil to finish with a 650 series. His average now stands at an impressive 221. Jason Belmonte lifted his average to 211, also an impressive achievement, after games of 224-203-220 (647).
Mick Moorby and Mario Mastronardi also shot a 600 series. Moorby fired a closing 246 for a 621 set while Mastronardi rolled 208-215 (611).
Other good games were turned in by Aldo Belmonte 205-202, Ross Caltabiano 203, John Cooney 205, Henry Phillips 205-203, Tony Richards 234 and Stan Streatfeild 214.
Ian Hazzard was in fine form in the Wednesday Doubles with games of 227-267-226 for a 720 series. Also doing well were Glen Robinson 202, Rhearne Trudgett 210, Dianne Hazzard 209 and Marilyn Schwenke 206.
Mick Moorby shot 203-229 in the Sunday Restricted Singles then followed up with 200 in the Sunday Doubles. In the Singles, Bob Waddell bowled 213 and Trevor Auliff had a 207 game.
Craig Woodley shot a 202 in the Sunday Sabbath league while in the Monday 10am Triples Rodney Thomas had a 210 game.
Josh Scully scored a 200 game in the Monday 6:30 league while John Mills rolled a 204. In the Tuesday 6:30 league Ross Mills shot a 203 while Carl Bishop bowled 207.
There were many personal best efforts this week including Allan Davis 129, Damion Carr 137, Sarah Hunt 133, Nathan Hunt 176, Tania Caltabiano 155, William Forbes 141 (100 over average), Amanda Kendall 138 (80 over average) and Katy Maw 158-178.
Also achieving a personal best this week were Casey Dunbar 121, Matthew Ripps 151, Evan Jackson 146, Jessie Channon 113 and Joshua Fardell 107.

The fifth round of the South-West zone Country Challenge series was held at the Mudgee Bowl last weekend with the two Orange teams holding steady.
The women's team remained in third place behind Bathurst and Canberra while the men's team stayed in second spot behind Wagga.
With just one round remaining, to be held in Bathurst on 18-19 September, Bathurst have the women's title at their mercy while Wagga holds an unassailable lead in the men's division.
In round five Henry Phillips did best for Orange with a 193 average and nine wins from ten matches, a top effort.
The consistent Alan Collins averaged 184 in winning half his eight games while Ken Wiseman and David Rosser both averaged 172. Wiseman won seven of nine games while Rosser won six from eight.
Also bowling for Orange were Wally Price and Chris Collins, both below their best, averaging 161 and 160 respectively.
