Orange junior Jason Belmonte has received a special invitation to bowl in The National Coca-Cola Classic, which will be aired, on Channel 10 starting Boxing Day, December 26. The tournament is a skins format with a prize pool of $20,000 for the four match series.
Belmonte joins fellow Australians Cara Honeychurch and Mike Muir plus US amateur champion Tim Mack who was a big hit in last year's tournament.
Cara Honeychurch is in devastating form at the moment. The triple gold medallist from last year's Commonwealth Games rolled a 300 game on TV in the United States at the start of October to win $50,000 and two weeks later captured the Women's Professional Bowling Association Brunswick Women's World Open.
Jason Belmonte will have an all expenses paid trip to Brisbane on December 10 for taping of the series.
