The Philips Stadion
The Philips Stadion, home to the dutch giant PSV Eindhoven, is one of the most advanced stadiums in Europe. Though
it is on the same spot that PSV have been playing since 1913, the stadium has been redeveloped
several times. The latest round of redevelopment being completed in 1995. The stadium, like the club, are owned by
the Electronics giant Philips and boasts one of the most impressive floodlighting systems
in Europe. Other facilities that the stadium has are under-soil heating, and a high tech
security system. The stadium is a few thousand seats short of being a five star stadium in the eyes of UEFA and due to this
the PSV management decided on increasing the size of the stadium to 40,000 to allow it to host major European
club finals. The Philips Stadion has also been chosen to host 3 group matches during Euro 2000.
