Profile: Jackie Mac is one of the most promising youngsters that Scotland has produced in a while, his speed being one of the major factors which promotes him to the forefront of any list of Scotland hopefuls. The position which Colin Calderwood played against Latvia would have suited Jackie right down to the ground, he would have been as useful as Colin was ineffectual. Not many who saw it will forget his thunderbolt against Liverpool in Europe last season, and his ability to cut inside and have a pop at goal is another encouraging aspect of his play. If he can steer clear of injury, and maintain a run of form, then Craig Brown will be hard pushed to ignore him.
