01/24/01 Paul Speeks 9/2\0 passed away this morning. Funeral is Saturday 1/27/01. Donations can be made in his name at https://www.kidney.org/funds/makegift8.cfm.
5/12/99 For those of you in the Penn State Alumni Association, Bill Burgess '65, Lambda 671, is on the ballot for PSU Alumni Council. He mentions Theta Xi as an activity, which is good publicity. Please consider giving him your vote.

5/10/99 A Theta Xi-palooza party (aka Flan-Fest '99) will be held 1PM July 24 at Rich Flanagan's house (9/1\9). Party is open to all brothers, wives, little sisters, etc. It may just be your last chance to see your friends from Theta Xi during this millennium. The festivities will start at 1pm and last until the last person leaves. We�ll have lots of food and drinks, and of course volleyball. Please RSVP to Rich (610-932-5039 or e-mail) for directions.

4/30/99 Announcing the Inaugural Lambda Alumni Association of Theta Xi Central PA Golf Tournament on May 22nd, 1999 at the Harrisburg North Golf Resort in Dauphin County!! Tee times begin at 1:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded. The cost for alumni and relatives/friends is $55; the cost for undergraduates is $42. The cost includes green fee, cart, meal, and prizes. Any proceeds above the cost of the tournament are to benefit the Lambda Alumni Association. The tournament will conclude with a grilled dinner under the pavilion, at which time the prize and award winners (and losers) will be announced. Also, Tony Margerum has graciously offered the use of the L.O.A.D. cabin for an evening of fun after the tournament. (That alone should warrant your attendance.) Please RSVP. to Kevin Marpoe or call (717) 612-4201 and leave a message by May 17th. I will send directions to the course to all those who express interest. [P.S. FYI - The homepage of the Resort is at http://www.millersburg.com/hbgnorth/home.htm. Please note that the Harrisburg North Golf Course requires soft spikes, not golf shoes with metal spikes.] All are welcome. Even if you've never played the game before, come give it a try and spend a great day outdoors with your brothers. Unless you already have a foursome arranged, the foursomes will be a mix of alumni and actives. (Note: We still intend to have a tournament in the Philadelphia area later in the year.)

4/26/99 Congratulations to our 19 new brothers, initiated April 24. Everyone remember to wear your badge on Thursday for Founder's Day!

1/20/99 This year's LOAD event will be on the weekend of Feb 26-28. That's the last weekend of Feb. It will be at the usual place, and we'll do the usual things. Please let Joe know if you are coming, or if you know of anyone who is going to be there.

1/13/99 CANCELLEDThe band consisting of L935 joe mina, L907 scott stout, jimmy furey, eugene joyce, and bill donnelly presently known as The Moondogs would like your possible presence at an informal performance of music. The gig takes place at THE AMERICAN LEGION in willow grove (yeah, it's not the taj but it will do) Saturday JANUARY 30, 1999 8p.m. to ? Contact Scott or Joe for more info.

11/9/98 Lisa, NAC, Karen, Dan, Amy On Saturday, Nov 7, little sister Karen Castranio became Mrs. Michael Burkhardt. The wedding was held in Pittsburgh and was attended by Mike Baker, Dan Homitz, Lisa Pilof, and Amy Mascolo. This would be considered a mixed marriage since the groom's parents are die-hard Michigan and Michigan St. fans. The colors of the wedding were Penn State blue and white, however the groom's family was satisfied when they heard that Michigan was crushing PSU.

10/26/98 Joe Mina will not be having a Beef & Beer this year, but is working on setting up a LOAD weekend in February or March. E-mail Joe with suggestions
