This week we have four relatively easy picks. This is fortunate for the rookie, since I have to keep up with John the pick master Boughter. Who, I believe, has gone completely insane since his finish last year. Ok, enough about John's finish last year. We all have to move on, especially John.

In my opinion there are two give me picks this week. The first is the Nebraska Cornhuskers over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The Cornhuskers have a new coach this season, and are starting with a with a first year quarterback. However, this will not slow them down against an average team such as Louisiana Tech. Louisiana Tech is impressive but they can't rival the Cornhuskers in the long run. The second give me Is the Florida State Seminoles over Texas A&M. Florida State may have a problem with their offensive sophomore line; however, when these talented players become seasoned veterans the opposing team will have something to fear--after all the average weight of this line is 314lb per individual. Now lets sit back and see how Texas A&M does. I would like to see an upset in this match, as unlikely as it may seem, so I could see John cry.

The other two games for this week are the Colorado State Rams Vs Michigan State Spartans, and the Purdue Boilermakers Vs Southern Cal Trojans. In Colorado State Rams Vs Michigan State I have chosen Michigan State. I believe that the Burke, Irvin combo will be unstoppable in this game but I may be wrong. This will be a game that could go one way or the other. In the Purdue Boilermakers Vs Southern Cal Trojans I like Purdue because of the aggressive passing which has been phenomenal in pre season. This in comparison with the Trojans inexperienced offensive line may make a difference. In addition, they have a new coach. This may be a big problem for the Trojans. In the Trojans favor we have their defense which must shut Purdue passing game down. Who will be on top at the end of this game?

In conclusion, I would like to state that my picks are based on limited research. My reason for competing in the picks contest is one to have fun and increases my knowledge of college football. Two to prove that a novice can compete, and three to watch John fall from the top.

P.S. As always anything that is associated with me (Rookie) must attribute John as being a JACK ASS. Thank you, may your picks be better than John's.
