And Calgarians showed just how much they love the Canadian country music superstar by scooping up every ticket for Twain's two local concerts, June 6 and 7 at the Canadian Airlines Saddledome.
About 23,000 tickets for the Calgary shows went on sale at 10 a.m. yesterday and, as of 4 p.m., less than 100 tickets remained for each show.
Jason Grant of Vancouver-based Universal Concerts Canada is certain, by the time you read this, both shows will be completely sold out.
"We all expected the shows to do well, but this has surpassed all of our expectations," Grant said.
Shania-mania also swept through Sudbury, Ont., the first stop on Twain's cross-Canada tour.
Hundreds of fans waited overnight through bone-chilling rain, thunder and lightning to be at or near the front of the line when the arena doors opened at 9 a.m.
The May 29 and 31 shows sold out.
