What Matters
Furby-Mania
Dateline New York City- Today in New York, Mayor Guilliani declared a state of emergency. This was caused by the high demand for furbies. People, disgruntled because they couldn't get their furbies, have taken to the streets to start what is called "The Chicago Riots, without the mindless violence, lootings, killings, or general public participation."
Furby madness is sweeping the nation. As of yet, 567 million people living in the U.S. own furbies. That is 350 million more than the current population. It is heralded as the greatest event of mass distribution in the history of retail.
At this point, you are probably asking yourself, "self, what is a furby?". That is something that many people ask themselves, and as of yet, no one seems to have the answer. As put by one person who purchased a furby, "I just saw a really long line, and decided to get at the end." That coincides with the most commonly said statement when a furby is purchased, "I waited in line for hours, for 43,680 hours, that's five years, for this?!"
As of yet, there seems to be no end to the furby madness. Christian Hoolio, the President of the company that distributes furbies says this, "I lay awake at night in my bed thinking of one thing. Why?"
