The two sides squared up to each other a week last Saturday with the 2-2 League of Wales cup draw at the forefront of everyone's memory.

However, it was a very different Barry side to the one which took the field in the previous midweek. Coming back into the side were a number of experienced players, including Terry Evans, Danny Carter, Eifion Williams and Mark Dempsey, with some of the younger players sitting out on the game, or coming on late as substitutes.

Indeed, this was a far more steely Barry side, seen as early as the second minute when Gary Lloyd scored with a direct free-kick from 20 yards.

It wasn't much later that Eifion Williams scored his ninth goal of the season, shooting from about ten yards out.

Despite those setbacks, though, Caersws forced their way back into the game a few minutes later, with Gary Lloyd unfortunately heading into the wrong net.

However, after half-time, Barry confirmed their grip on the game, with Paul Mitchell steering the ball home in the 48th minute. Mitchell's first goal for the club since his move here last March, that gave Barry an unassailable 3-1 lead.

That became 4-1 twenty minutes later, as Mark Dempsey fired home his second goal of the season after 70 minutes. At 4-1, Barry were coasting, with Matthew Griffiths in the Caersws keeper making some tremendous saves.

Caersws did get a consolation goal to add a deserved respectability, though, with Sean Jehu heading home in the 86th minute - his second goal of the season.

That League of Wales victory will hopefully have given Barry a boost for the League of Wales Cup replay, but Caersws have achieved some good results both this season and against Barry, and Barry will have to be at their best to beat them.
