UEFA have as expected in their recent meeting amalgamated the UEFA and CWC. This means there will be a very large qualifying round on the 10th and 24th of August.

We in Wales will have 2 entrants and going on the rankings used by UEFA which were the ones in force at the end of the 1997/98 season i.e. the ones used for this it appears we can play clubs from the following countries

There will be 82 teams in this round with the Welsh Clubs playing the following:

Fair  Play  award:   3  teams

3rd placed clubs from :     Czech Republic
                            Norway
                            Austria
                            Russia
                            Croatia
                            Turkey
                            Denmark
                           
Runners Up + 3rd placed clubs:
                            Switzerland
                            Ukraine

Championship Winners + Runners Up + 3rd placed clubs:
                            Poland
                            Hungary
                            Belgium
                            Slovakia

Championship Winners + Runners Up:
                            Romania
                            Sweden
                            Georgia
                            Cyprus
                            Scotland
                            Israel
                            Slovenia
                            Belarus
I will in future programmes advise supporters of those teams already qualified.
