From the Dragon's Mouth

Barry Town v Caersws
League of Wales, 30th January, 1999.

WELCOME

Good afternoon, and welcome to Jenner Park for today's League of Wales match between Barry Town A.F.C.and Caersws. On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to extend greetings to everyone at today's match, but especially to the players, officials and supporters of Caersws. We hope that you enjoy your time in Barry, and that we all see an entertaining match this evening, as is usual in games between our two clubs.

CROESO

Croeso i Barc Jenner a'r gem bwysig yn y Gynghrair Genedlaethol. Ar ran pawb yn y dref, hoffwn i estyn croeso cynnes i'r chwaraewyr, swyddogion a chefnogwyr ein ymwelwyr heddiw, Clwb Pel-Droed Caersws. Mwynhewch y gem. Cewch siwrnai ddiogel adref heno.

AND BARRY TOWN WILL PLAY...

Last Saturday's draw in the F.A.W Premier Cup quarter-final left Barry facing the 'unknown', as we were drawn to face the runners-up of Group A.

There is a match still to be played in that group, and the result of that game will decide whom we entertain. Should Cardiff City win their home match with Rhyl, then Barry will play Merthyr Tydfil. If, however, Cardiff draw or lose, then our neighbours will be making the short journey here to Jenner Park.

Further details and a date for the match (whoever we play) will be announced at a later time.

GAME CANCELLED

As those who read the recent programme against Connah's Quay Nomads will know, we were scheduled to meet Cwmbran Town in a rearranged fixture last Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, the game had to be postponed again, and will be played later in the season. Apologies to anyone who came to Jenner Park on Tuesday evening.

COMING UP!

Next Saturday, 6th February, sees us visit mid-Walians Rhayader Town in the League of Wales. Rhayader are currently bottom of the League of Wales, but feature ex-Barry boss, John Lewis, as manager, something which should make for an interesting match. It may not be an easy match, either, as last season's 2-2 draw at the Weirglodd testified.

Following that match, we return to Jenner Park for a Welsh Cup 4th round tie against Connah's Quay Nomads. The Nomads, you may remember, knocked us out of the Welsh Cup last season, so there are some scores to settle! Be here for that match.

Also, be here for the visit of Total Network Solutions on 20th February. Another side better known for a cup victory over us, they are currently challenging for a place in the pack behind us - and a European spot.

For more information on travel, see the Supporters' Club travel notes, and 'In Town Next' for some more info on our next opponents here at Jenner Park.

Enjoy today's match,
the Yellow Dragon
