Barry Town v Haverfordwest County
WELCOME
Good afternoon, and welcome to Jenner Park for today's League of Wales match between Barry Town A.F.C.and Haverfordwest County AFC. On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to extend greetings to everyone at today's match, but especially to the players, officials and supporters of Haverfordwest. We hope that you enjoy your time in Barry, and that we all see an entertaining match this afternoon.
CROESO
Croeso i Barc Jenner a'r gem bwysig yn y Cynghrair Cenedlaethol Cymru. Ar ran pawb yn y dref, hoffwn i estyn croeso cynnes i'r chwaraewyr, swyddogion a chefnogwyr ein ymwelwyr heddiw, Clwb Pel-Droed Hwlffordd. Mwynhewch y gem, ac yn cael siwrnai ddiogel adref heno.
RESCHEDULED MATCH VERSUS CAERNARFON TOWN
The cancelled FAW Premier Cup match with Caernarfon Town will be played here at Jenner Park a week Tuesday, 15th December.
Writing before last Wednesday's match in North Wales, hopefully a victory next week will see us finish top of the 'Group of Death' that is Group B, and present us with a home match in the quarter-finals.
'BARNEY' MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Belated congratulations to Gary on his Loosemore Solicitors Manager of the Month Award for October, which was presented prior to the recent Welsh Cup match with Haverfordwest County.
Gary received the award following the team's continued outstanding performances in that month, conceeding just two League of Wales goals in our three victories that month. In contrast, we scored twelve goals ourselves.
I'm sure that all supporters will want to again offer congratulations to Gary, as well as hoping that there'll be a few more of those trophies on the table later this season!
TOWN ON TOP OF THE (FAIR-PLAY) LEAGUE
At the end of November, Barry remained comfortably in the lead of the League of Wales Fair-Play table. The club picked up three bookings in the course of the month, taking the total to eleven yellow cards and no red cards in the LoW this season. Barry are ten 'ahead' of second placed Total Network Solutions, who have 21 yellow cards and no reds, while Afan Lido are the next best for yellow cards with 16 yellows, but one red card.
Our opponents today, Haverfordwest, are in fourth place, so today should be a clean game of football!
COMING UP!
We'll be on our travels yet again this coming Saturday, and those who haven't been able to get to our away games in North Wales will be rather grateful for this as we're at Carmarthen Town in West Wales, neighbours to our opponents today.
As mentioned above, we play at home on Tuesday, 15th December, against Caernarfon in the FAW Premier Cup. That begins another group of home matches, as we entertain LoW high-flyers, Aberystwyth Town, on Saturday, 19th December, local rivals, Inter Cable-Tel, on Saturday, 26th December (Boxing Day as well, obviously) and then LoW high-flyers and local rivals, Cwmbran Town, on Saturday, 2nd January, 1999.
Enjoy today's match,
the Yellow Dragon.
