Flu-hit Barry draw at home

Barry Town 1 Inter Cabletel 1

INJURY-RAVAGED Barry Town were happy to share the points with rivals Inter Cabeltel despite being on top at Jenner Park.

The draw means the League of Wales top-dogs are five points clear of Cwmbran.

Despite having only twelve fit players available, Barry looked sharper from the start.

Eifion Williams rewarded Town's first half command with his 18th league striker in only 15 league games after 38 minutes.

Mark Dempsey's intelligent ball found Darren Davies wide on teh left and his low cross was swept in from close range by Williams.

Inter began the second half determined to salvage some pride. After sustained pressure, Barry goalkeeper David Wells punched an in-swinging John Wile corned into the roof of his own net.
