Barry on course for fourth title

Barry Town 1 Newtown 0

Newtown generally cause the three time champions more problems that most League of Wales sides and this was no exception.

But Barry came through thanks to Danny Carter's 38th minute goal to open a nine point gap at the top.

Barry had most of the possession and perhaps should have won with rather more to spare but Brian Coyne's men defended grimly and had their moments in attack.

This defeat puts Newtown's chances of another taste of European football on the back burner, while it seems nothing can prevent Barry from marching on to their fourth successive championship.
