BARRY TOWN moved remorselessly towards a hat-trick of titles and another foray into the Champions League with this comprehensive win.
But player/coach Gary Barnett put all thoughts of the title behind him saying "We'll keep plugging away.
"We enjoy playing well and I thought the lads adjusted superbly to the difficult conditions."
Barnett may be playing it cool, but his side did the talking for him as they adapted superbly to the treacherous surface.
Adam Moore and Andy Jones returned for Cwmbran but it was Barry's league leading goalscorer Eifion Williams who missed the first clear-cut opening from a Terry Evans cross.
After 37 minutes, Barry were awarded a free-kick just outside the Cwmbran area and Gareth Knott surprised Pat O'Hagan with a delightful chip into the corner before the Cwmbran keeper had a chance to organise his defensive wall.
O'Hagan redeemed himself before the interval with two good saves to deny Barry another goal. Cwmbran started much better after the break with Moore and Wayne Goodridge impressing in midfield and testing the visitors' defence.
It was Barry who scored next, however, as goalkeeper Mark Ovendale put in a huge throw out of defence.
A slick move saw Danny Carter find Phil Johnson, whose header was finished off by Williams - his 29th league goal of the season. Simon Dyer missed a good chance for Cwmbran and Ovendale twice saved well from Mattie Davies.
O'Hagan saved superbly from a Barry corner but had no chance as Williams grabbed Barry's third goal in the dying seconds.
Cwmbran's former Welsh international, Mark Aizlewood said: "When you go 1-0 down to Barry, it's always difficult to give a good account of yourselves."
