Barry held by bottom team

RHAYADER TOWN 0 BARRY TOWN 0

LEAGUE leaders Barry were held to only their third draw of the season when they were denied two points by the team least expected to create problems.

But Rhayader took their battle against relegation right to the top and history might have hinted at this result because Rhayader have never lost to Barry at home.

And to deepen Barry's disappointment they were reduced to ten men when Justin Perry was sent off for a tackle on John Morris in the 25th minute.

Rhayader, 34 points behind Barry, rose to the occasion and had first-half chances but so did Barry and they were unexpectedly missed by Eifion Williams with only Rhayader keeper Mike Barton to beat.

Rhayader blunted the edge of the Barry attack by forcing the strikers to rely on long-range shots which brought the best out of Barton.
