Aber to use Barry as yardstick

ABERYSTWYTH manager, Meirion Appleton, will use today's clash against League of Wales runaway leaders Barry to measure just how far his young side has developed.

The Seasiders are on course to finish in the top half of the table, and a late surge could yet see them clinch an Invitation Cup place next season.

"We are anticipating a big crowd and the game will certainly show us how far we have come," said Appleton, who welcomes Nigel Nicholas back after suspension.

Barry, who rested several big guns for the midweek Gilbert Cup semi-final win over Cwmbran, remain on course for a remarkable unbeaten league season, having avoided defeat in all 27 games so far.
