Darren's delight as the Dragons carry on hunt for treble

BARRY TOWN put their FAW Invitation Cup defeat against Merthyr behind htem as they marched into the semi-finals of the Welsh Cup.

Darren Ryan was the hero, with a priceless treble to keep Barry on course for their own triple trophy triumph in a 3-1 win.

If Ryan doesn't tick, Barry don't tick. Against Merthyr, Ryan was a marked man and Barry produced very little.

But Ryan was on song against TNS and each of his goals had class written all over it.

The Dragons played their slick passing game and started to open a few doors in the heart of the TNS defence early on.

Ryan pounced for the opening goal after just 26 minutes, when a long tthrow from Lee Barrow was not cleared and Ryan punished the hesitant defence.

Then Dragons' Danny Carter curled a superb through pass for Ryan to run onto and he coolly slotted hoe his second after 58 minutes.

TNS pulled a goal back through Michael Gallagher after 70 minutes, but the result was never in doubt.

Ryan completed his trio of goals with ten minutes to spare, when Gareth Knottset free Carter whose perfect cross found Ryan to head in from six yards.
