Here's a pic that I scanned from Sports Illustrated, look closely at what shoes the ref is wearing, it looks to be a black/white AJXIII w/the pods painted black, or a chutney/black AJXIII low w/the chutney part dyed black, I think that it is the former. As you know, refs are required to wear ALL black shoes so they must have had these shoes made for them or did the alterations themselves. So please don't email me and ask. It is University of North Carolina only, and MJ has a pair in 13.5. Other than that, they were not produced in mass quantities...Only about 10-15 pairs total in the world?

MJ's new book, "For the Love of the Game," came out. I was looking through it and saw a pic of him wearing the black/white AJXIII's, with one major difference. The side panel was NOT leather it was mesh. He probably had these shoes custom made because as you can see from the article at the bottom the mesh material is much lighter than the leather. Also having both the leather and the mesh AJXIII's in a size 13 I have noticed a considerable difference. Also here is a pic of the AJXIII ALL BLACK LOWS that he wore during the finals (to promote the shoes, but he couldn't wear the actual ones because of the color). This pic came from NBA.com a while back.
