Yes he is England best striker and yes he is Newcastle's only hope for the future but Alan has to start scoring goals before he can take the next step. And why is it Alan Shearer can't score goals well its because of the lack of service he receives. Any striker in the world from Ronaldo to Gateshead striker Keith Fletcher will not score goals if the service is there for them. And is the service there for big Al well the simple fact is NO. For instance Temuri Ketsbaia is not the best striking partner in the world is he. He never looks up and he just runs with the ball and on his mind is glory. Not for Newcastle but for himself. For example against Southampton when we got beat 4-2 Ketsbaia didn't realise the great conditions for supplying Alan with plenty of opportunities. The surface was very greasy and if Shearer just got the ball once and had low hard dig the chances are 85% of the time it would of gone in. Also Alan has probably the best heading ability of any striker in the world along with Duncan Ferguson. Where do the crosses come from for anyone in the box to get onto well it is Peruvian Nolberto Solano. By the time Nobby looks up to cross the ball the opposition's defence has already realised Shearer or Ferguson has broken away and they are charged down. What we need is another Ginola or a Darrenn
Anderton who have good crosses and are going to assist goals. We have a
new man now that is going to do that. Kieron Dyer is probably the best up
and coming England player at the moment. He will supply ammunition as well
as score them himself. In the early games of the season Dyer was sprinting
and creating space for himself but Ketsbaia and Solano were not realising
these great opportunities for a goal. The only time this happened was both
at Southampton and against Sunderland. At Southampton his forward run resulted
in him been fouled and Alan Shearer getting his only goal of the season
from a spot kick. Against Sunderland young Robinson put the ball through
for Dyer and he slotted it by Tommy Sorenson. If Newcastle and Alan Shearer are going to score goals it will be the managers job to sort out the supply line and that is the job of the midfield especially the wings which Newcastle are currently lacking in. If Anderton is failing to agree terms at Spurs why not swoop in and get him. Alan Shearer would have a field day with his crosses not to mention Duncan Ferguson. Some key players that Newcastle might be interested
in are Anderton, Panzanaro (Juventus Youth), Ginola (shouldn't of left),
Dominguez (Not a graham player) and Mark Overmars who is finding it hard
to break into the Arsenal first team. |
