About me:" My name is Henrik Wallensten. I'm born in a small town, Jönköping, located by the southern banks of the lake "Vättern". My dream and goal has always been the same: To be a professional sportsperson,,
When I was 4 years old, I started to play soccer. When I was 8 I started to play Bandy. I was quite successful on the soccer pitch during my youth, but when I was 14 everything went wrong,, I lost it all when I found out that I needed to wear glasses. Contact-lenses wasn't to think of then,,
This forced me out of soccer and bandy and I had to find a new sport. I fell for Tennis. Since the day I picked up my first wooden racket, this game has been like a natural thing. It's simply a part of my life.
But there is a big problem with my tennis,I started to play to late,, But I have tried to do my very best on the court despite the fact that I´m a "oldie",,
I'm soon 25 years old and my "career" end is approaching very quick,,
I plan to give tennis one more go,, I'm prepared to do all the hard work again. I'm prepared to lift weights, do sprint on slippery winter roads, Heavy practice on court,, The reason for doing all this hard work once more is quite simple:
1: The feeling of a victory! That's just so unbeatable. Every victory is a sensational feeling,, Nothing beats that,, Nothing!!
2: I'm getting older! Give it your all when u still can. If I should retire and not be satisfied with my performance, I reckon it would be something I should regret for a long time,,
But apart from tennis,, What are my other interests?
Ice hockey!! I'm a big fan of the Swedish team Frölunda Indians. They have been my favorites since forever,, and when they won the Swedish Championship 2003,, It was 38 years ago,, It was the best that have happened to me in my life so far,, I was crying like a baby!
Meeting people! I really like meeting new persons all the time! Each individual person has their own story to tell,, Every human on this planet is unique!
* Tennis facts:
" During my 10 year old carrier I have had a lots of ups and downs. My biggest success was when I played the Victorian Grass court open 2001 in Melbourne, Australia and won the event. That was my first ever victory in a singles tournament. Since then I have won one more event, an indoor tournament in Jönköping 2002. I have some more titles under my belt in doubles. The most recent was when I won the Lerum Open 2003 with a good friend of mine,,
* The future:
What is my plan for the future? What shall I do after my tennis career is over? Well,, my new goal is to create a new sport brand! Being my own boss must be a great feeling!! And also have a permanent seat in Scandinavium, "Kållesseum" in Gothenburg. Follow my beloved team Frölunda Indians on the hunt for new success!!
