The three-pronged rushing assault for the Vomiting Drunks in 2002! Follow Sam Adams U here!
Ole Moonshine Jug, awarded to the
Sam Adams U. vs Bite Me U rivalry week winner.
Sam Adams University had a monster 2002 season! The CCFFL feared the power of the Vomiting Drunks, and for good reason. This team was loaded with stud talent acquired through long-term drafting and shrewd trades. Sam Adams U set a CCFFL record in 2002 for points scored in a season. We were led this year by The Three Horsemen: Avon Cobourne, Chris Brown and Larry Johnson. What a trio, this group is the best at running back in the 5 seasons of CCFFL!

Looking back at 2001, Sam Adams U had an exciting season. It ended much too early, unfortunately. Some big trade moves brought real talent to the Vomiting Drunks roster, and while we started slowly, the Drunks put together an outstanding second half of the season. The .500 overall record doesn't show what a feared team Sam Adams U had by the end of the year. A tough loss to eventual league champ Bacardi in an all-out war in the last week of the season put the 2001 record at 5-5. The Drunks keep their heads high after putting up some excellent games. Chris Simms was picked up before the season began in a trade for Kliff Kingsbury, and he and Eli Manning led the Drunk assault. Avon Cobourne was a force rushing the football, gaining well over 1200 yards and 9 tds. Sultan McCullough had a nice first half of the year, but then fell to an injury. Fortunately for the Vomiting Drunks, Levron Williams absolutely exploded at this time and finished the season with 18 touchdowns for his hoosiers. His stepping up when needed was huge to the Drunks, and Ledell Betts gave us a couple of good performances as well that were clutch. At the WR spot, Ron Johnson and Kareem Kelly were solid performers. Atrews Bell, a Florida State player, was a total bum and banished to the bench after the second game. Fortunately for us, a player that was not expected to make much impact this season, stepped up again. Billy McMullen was picked up after the draft, expected to play 4th string WR and see more action this year, but became Sam Adams U's top WR of the season! A pickup which was expected to pay dividends in 2002 became a huge piece of the surge of the second half of the year in 2001. With Eli Manning, Avon Cobourne, Sultan McCullough, Billy McMullen, Kareem Kelly, and the FSU and Miami defenses returning, Sam Adams U has a great foundation for the 2002 campaign. Chris Simms was traded before the 2002 draft started for the fourth overall pick, giving us 2 of the top 9 picks. Look out for Sam Adams U in 2002!!

Eli Manning, Ole Miss
2000 was an ok season for us, truly an improvement over the previous year. We feel like we can make some agressive moves and really put the Vomiting Drunks into a spot to compete for the Crip League title! A lot of people will have to perform for us to take the next step and get into title contention. First thing we did during the offseason was to basically trade Miami QB Ken Dorsey, All American in many publications, to Burlington for his Florida State Defense. We felt like with the depth we had at QB, we could afford to send him off in return for the best defense in the nation. We also traded to get excellent Jr RB Sultan McCullough from Southern Cal, and Levron Williams, Sr RB from Indiana. We've upgraded our WR corps by drafting Sr from Florida State, Atrews Bell, then traded to get All American wideout from Minnesota, Sr Ron Johnson. And we feel Sam Adams U. is one of the strongest in the league at the quarterback spot with Kliff Kingsbury, Jr from Texas Tech and Eli Manning, Soph from Ole Miss. Kingsbury rifled passes to the tune of 3400+ yards last year. Eli Manning learned behind Romaro Miller with the Rebels, then showed his ability when he threw 3 touchdown passes in the final quarter of the Ole Miss/West Virginia game.
And with this newfound assault on the elite of the Crip League, Sam Adams U. felt like it needed a new coach to lead this team. After considering many options, the Vomiting Drunks named Anna Kournikova as their new head coach. Early in 2002, the Vomiting Drunks added offensive coordinator Jessica Alba and defensive coordinator Gillian Anderson to the staff. We feel they will have no problems getting the attention of every player on our team!
Coach Anna Kournikova says it's TIME to kick some fantasy butt!
