HIGH WIRE MATCH

DESCRIPTION: This match was devised by Thantos when he held the
Galaxian Heavyweight Title as a way of intimidating
then-#1 contender Star Warrior. There is always a ti-
tle on the line in this type of match, be it the Ga-
laxian, Interplanetary, Galaxian Tag, Interplanetary
Tag Team, or any other singles or tag team title sanc-
tioned by your promotion. Two poles are hung on the
outside of two opposite turnbuckle poles, and a steel
wire is strung between the poles. There are two ways
to win: pinfall/submission; or climb a pole, walk the
wire, and grab the belt, which hangs 5 ft. over the
center of the wire.

RULES: A wrestler who walks the wire and grabs the belt MUST
reach the opposite pole in order to win the title. If
he grabs the belt then falls to the mat, the belt must
then be won by pinfall/submission. (In taq team match-
es, both teams have two attempts to grab a belt, since
both belts are suspended over the ring.) Pinfall/sub-
mission victories can ONLY be achieved by finisher. If
a defensive wrestler rolls "PIN," it means that the
offensive wrestler is attempting to climb the pole and
walk the wire, unless the belt(s) has/have fallen to
the mat, in which case the defensive wrestler must add
1 to his his PIN rate (basic or fatigue, whichever you
prefer to use.) If the defensive wrestler rolls his
PIN rate or lower, the offensive wrestler has climbed
the pole and is ready to walk the wire. In tag team
competition, if one wrestler pins his opponent or
climbs the pole, walks the wire, grabs a belt and
walks to the other pole, his team will be declared the
champions.

Roll 3d4 and refer to the High Wire Chart below to de-
termine whether or not an offensive wrestler wins the
title:

HIGH WIRE CHART

3-4 The opponent shakes the pole as you are walking the
wire and you hit the mat hard. Add 2 to your PIN rate.
The opponent may be disqualified. OPPONENT ROLLS DIS-
QUALIFICATION. If there is no disqualification, the
opponent moves in for the kill. OPPONENT ROLLS ON LE-
VEL 3 OFFENSE.

5-6 You see the opponent attempting to get onto his feet,
so you decide to climb down to administer more punish-
ment. ROLL ON LEVEL 3 OFFENSE.

7 YOU GRAB THE BELT AND WALK TO THE OPPOSITE POLE, WHERE
YOU WRAP IT AROUND YOUR WAIST. YOU ARE THE NEW CHAM-
PION (OR YOU RETAIN THE TITLE, IF YOU WERE DEFENDING
THE BELT.)

8 You walk to the center of the wire and grab the belt,
but you lose your balance and fall to the mat. The
belt is taken from you by the referee and given to the
timekeeper. The belt must now be won by pinfall or
submission. (If there are tag team titles on the line,
and this was your first attempt at grabbing one of the
belts, you have one more chance to grab the other
belt.) OPPONENT ROLLS ON LEVEL 3 OFFENSE.

9-10 For some unknown reason, you begin to develop a case
of acrophobia (a fear of heights), so you decide to
climb down in hopes of shaking if off. You can always
try again later. ROLL ON LEVEL 3 OFFENSE.

11-12 You look down and see the opponent getting up. Your
lack of concentration causes you to lose you balance
and fall to the mat without getting your hands on the
belt. Add 1 to your PIN rating. OPPONENT ROLLS ON LE-
VEL 3 OFFENSE.
