TECHNICAL TIP # 1

First remove the two screws mounting your speedo to your dash. Next reach behind the speedo, and remove the speedo cable in the center of the back. Then remove the electrical conection on the back left. Remove the unit.

After you have removed the unit, you will have to open it up. Be careful not to loose any parts while attempting this. Remove the outer screws. You will have to disconnect and unscrew the small cables on the top back. (You do not have to unscrew the nuts attaching your temp, fuel, oil, and batt from the motherboard)

Slide the back panel off revealing the 5 lights. There should be heat shields around the two outermost lights. Using pliars, you can carefully snap the rivets removing the heat shields.

Once removed, reverse these procedures to put the speedo back together and back in the dash. This is the cheapest, easiest, and most rewarding improvement for night time driving.

Note: Not responsible in anyway for damage caused by reader to speedometer. Perform at your own risk.
