Cincinnati Bengals' Offseason Moves

Signed:

WR Carl Pickens (Bengals)

OL Jay Leewenburg (Colts)

FB Clif Groce (Bengals)

FB Brian Milne (Bengals)

FB Nicky Sualua (from Cowboys)

WR Stepfret Williams (Bengals)

WR Tommie Boyd (Lions)

OL Brian DeMarco (Jaguars)

OL Rod Jones (Bengals)

OL Matt O'Dwyer (Jets)

TE Marco Battaglia (Bengals)

G Ken Blackman (Bengals)

NT Oliver Gibson (Steelers)

DL Jevon Langford (Bengals)

LB Billie Granville (Bengals)

LB Tom Tumulty (Bengals)

CB Corey Sawyer (Bengals)

Obviously, the biggest offseason pickups for the Bengals were O'Dwyer and DeMarco, since they help to shore up what is turning out to be a pretty good offensive line. Jevon Langford will help fill the void that was left by Clyde Simmons.

Lost:

DE Clyde Simmons

S Sam Shade

G Cory Withrow

QB Neil O'Donnell

QB Paul Justin

OT Anthony Brown

RB Brandon Bennett

RB Eric Bieniemy

WR Damon Gibson

S Ashley Ambrose

Losses to O'Donnell and Justin were expected, even welcomed in fact. The loss of Sam Shade hurts, since he and Ashley Ambrose both started last year at times, and the Bengals are now horribly short on safeties. The one move that I didn't agree with was the releasing of RB Brandon Bennett. I really think this guy has quite a future in the NFL. I think the Bengals should have kept him instead of signing three FB's.
