Coach Mike Garofola
Coach Garofola just finished his fourth season as head coach of the varsity team. However, his coaching experience goes well beyond that. After playing four years of ball at SUNY Stony Brook, he went on to coach his alma mater for 12 years. From here he made a couple of short stops at Suffolk C.C. and Dowling College before landing here at Bellport High School. He coached the junior varsity team for four seasons before taking over the varsity job. Coach Garofola's coaching goes far beyond his vast knowledge of the game, he makes a true commitment to the players to turn them into the best they can be. This season, the players responded, and it showed. Coach Garofola will continue to coach out of love of the game. Two of his children, Matt, 21, and Brian, 18, have graduated and the third, another ball player, Scott, 13, is on his way.
