Neal came up to the varsity this year as a sophomore and was asked to play a major role, starting at shorstop and being the leadoff batter. He rose to the challenge and led the team in batting average and runs batted in. He came up in many key situations and came through with some big hits. His defense was solid all year, keeping his errors to a minimal number. These things helped him earned All League honors. He will be the main offensive weapon next year and he is one of the premier players in Suffolk County to watch for.
