Volcano:The Blast Coaster
Hopefully, soon, I will have some Volcano pics. Volcano was a new roller coaster at Paramount's King's Dominion at the 1998 season. I have ridden it twice last season and once this season. There are still long lines on the weekends, but for the most part, it's pretty light on the weekdays. Volcano is one of my fav coasters cause you have no idea where you are going. The LIM lauch is great, and you do a couple of twists and turns around the outside of the mountain. Then you go inside the top of the "volcano" (briefly) and you blast out the top. The view is great, being up so high. What's cool about the inversions are that the optical illusion make it look like you are going to hit the pipes, but then you flip upside down, and you don't. I really like Volcano:)
