MOTD Figures
In 1999 MOTD magazine approached Corinthian to make 4 figures for them to give way with their 1 year subscriptions. In their magazine recently it tells this story:
Two blokes ringing up and asking for 50 subscriptions each. At the time the staff thought they had lost the plot, but it turns out there was a method behind their madness. The figures of Yorke, Adams, Shearer & Fowler in their away strips now fetch �10 to �17 each, so signing up for all those mags has proved a wise investment.
What the magazine doesn�t tell you is that there were 5000 of these sets made in all, but only 700 subscriptions were taken up. That would make these figures very rare and well worth �17 each but 3000 sets were sold in one go to someone and who knows what will happen to them or to the other 1300 sets.
