The Annandale Atoms Athletic Boosters will annually award four scholarships. Two of these will be in honor of Robert G. Hardage, long-time coach, educator, and Director of Student Activities at Annandale High School. One will honor Robert Liebowitz, former long-time, state champion winning, boys' lacrosse coach. A new scholarship is being awarded in honor of Laura Hagan Smith, the former long-time, state champion winning, girls' basketball coach.  These four scholarships will be in the amount of $1,000, and will be presented to two male and two female student athletes.  All scholarships will be awarded to those athletes who best exemplify the criteria set forth below.  

1. Recipient must be a graduating senior.

2. Recipient must have participated in at least one Virginia High School League recognized sport, earning a varsity letter, and have participated during their senior year.

3. Recipient must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 at the end of the seventh semester.

4.Recipient should show leadership and dedication toward the sport and his/her teammates.

5. Recipient must have been accepted at a four-year institution of higher learning.

6. Student may not be the recipient of an athletic scholarship.

Applicants will be recommended by their coaches to the selection committee of the Atoms Booster Club, which will make the final decision.

Scholarships will be represented at the Awards Assembly.

Checks in the amount of $1,000.00 each will be sent directly to the recipients' school.
